Camping Castell Montgri is a well maintained site with superb facilities, located at the base of Rocamura Mountain and arranged in a series of steep terraces up the hillside.

There is no need to go far to enjoy a lively holiday – the site runs a first-class animation programme and facilities to suit every need, including sports competitions, ice cream parlours and a nightly disco (soundproofed) for teenagers. The main attraction has to be the superb pool complexes, one with stunning views of the coastline and mountains and each with its own restaurant, bar and terrace. Our emplacements are near to the smaller pool complex in a quieter part of the site. Separated by small shrubs, they provide an excellent spot to relax in the evenings.

Travelling south on the A7.
Take junction 5, signposted L'Escala and Empúries.*
Follow the GI 623 in the direction of L'Escala.
After 15km, before Viladamat, take the C31 in the direction of La Tallada d'Empordŕ, Verges and Torroella de Montgri.
After following the C31 for 9km you reach Verges.
At the crossroads of Verges, just before the Bar Mas Pi, which you will see ahead of you on your left, turn for L’Estartit-C31.
Continue on this road towards L’Estartit, past Torroella de Montgri (GI641) the campsite is approximately 4km on the left.

From Gerona airport,
exit from the GI-534 onto the A7, direction Gerona.
Exit at junction 5, signposted L'Escala and Empúries.

Local Area

The bustling resort of Estartit, with plenty of shops, bars, restaurants and nightclubs, as well as a modern harbour area, is around a mile’s walk. There is a glorious beach of fine golden sands and plenty of opportunity for watersports just a fifteen minute walk from the campsite. A free bus runs from site to Estartit in July and August.

Take a glass bottomed boat trip from Estartit to the Illes Medes, protected nature reserves with a stunning array of flora and fauna. From the boat you can observe marine life along the way. A day out at Marineland in Palafolls (50mls) is recommended. This waterpark also has a dolphin centre and a small zoo.
